Deploying NCP OVA

This guide covers deploying Network Copilot as a virtual appliance on VMware ESXi using the OVA package. The OVA deployment provides a pre-configured virtual machine with Network Copilot installed, without a bundled LLM. An external LLM must be configured post-deployment.

Prerequisites

  • VMware ESXi host with sufficient resources

  • Downloaded NCP OVA file (ncp-rx.x.x-en-base.ova) from the Aviz Networks Support Portal

Deployment Steps

  1. Log in to the ESXi host web client and click Create / Register VM.

  2. Select Deploy a virtual machine from an OVF or OVA file and click Next.

  3. Enter a name for the VM and select the downloaded .ova file, then click Next.

  4. Select the datastore where the VM will be installed and click Next.

  5. Under network mapping, select appropriate VM-Network to ensure the VM is reachable on your network, then click Next.

  6. Review the deployment configuration and click Finish.

  7. Monitor the upload progress under Recent Tasks at the bottom of the ESXi screen. Wait for the deployment to complete before proceeding.

  8. Once deployed, select the VM and click Power On.
